DC Guide Pt1: Restaurants

Moving to Washington D.C. from a small town in Kentucky all I heard was “are you really political?” or “you must love history!” After living here for a year I am here to tell you what other exciting things D.C. brings!

Beginning with the food of course…

First off, it may surprise you but D.C. is such a “foody” town filled with so many amazing restaurants and hidden coffee shops! Anything you want, we have! It’s almost harder to find American food here with all of the unique cultural based restaurants. I have learned to open up and try new things everyday which I am so thankful for (even though I do miss my Chick-Fil-A which use to be right down the road from me, I mean who doesn’t?)

Even though I like to be healthy, let’s be honest.. I loveeee my food! I get a lot of questions from visitors on where to go eat! If you love lunch or dinner here is a mixture of some of my favorite restaurants in D.C.:

Chez Billy Sud (Georgetown)

Fiola Mare (Georgetown)

Sequoia (Georgetown)

Farmer Fisher Bakers (Georgetown)

Filomena (Georgetown)

Martins Tavern (Georgetown)

Iron gate (Dupont)

Mission (Dupont)

Birch & Barley (14th)

Le Diplomate (14th)

Teds Bulletin (14th)

Barcelona Wine Bar (14th)

Dirty Habit

Old Ebbitt Grill

Joe’s Seafood

The Smith

Primerose

Poca Madre

Chaplins

Quarterdeck (bottomless crabs)

The Dabney

If you have questions or are going for a certain vibe, please message me! I am one that is all about the ambiance of a restaurant, which can make or break your experience!

More to come soon…

…including bottomless brunch (D.C.’s bottomless brunch is my Sunday morning go to whenever I have friends in town!) and if you want to go a more healthy route, D.C. is a town with juice bars and acai bowls on every corner which is hard to resist. (Favorites being: Southblock and JRINK)
