We are officially two months out from our big day and things are definitely starting to feel more “real” as we started to pick out our wedding bands together!
Our Experience With JamesAllen.com
We first started wedding band shopping back in January and casually browsed at a few local places around Kentucky and I liked the bands I tried on but none of them gave me the “wow factor.” I also always had JamesAllen.com in the back of my mind which is where Connor got my engagement ring from in DC. I knew I wanted a band that would stack nicely up against my current ring and match the 18K gold, which some jewelers do not carry.
Fast forward a little bit, we planned a trip to DC and I knew I wanted to go to James Allen to shop for our wedding bands! The nice thing about James Allen is that they have all of their bands easily accessible online with a magnified 360 view so I already had a good idea of what I wanted before going. I even was able to schedule a call with James Allen prior to my visit and they recommended styles they thought would pair nicely with my engagement ring based on the inspiration photos I emailed (I of course had a million Pinterest pins from over the years).
James Allen has a HUGE selection (200,000+ to be exact) of conflict-free diamonds and hundreds of settings in platinum, white gold, rose gold and yellow gold, all of which are customizable. It made it easy for me to consider different styles, narrow it down and know exactly what I did and did not like.
At the Georgetown DC location, I worked with Lorraine and Gina who were both excellent and made the process seamless. I of course had a ton of questions and they were very helpful with guiding Connor and I to picking our dream bands!
I am one of the most indecisive people, especially when it is a big decision and I have so many great options to pick from! We ended up spending a couple of hours there and didn’t even notice how quick time was flying by because I was having so much fun trying everyone on.
Moving On To Connor’s Band…
Of course guys band in general are a little easier to pick out but I was impressed with the amount of different bands James Allen had for men. They had two-toned, matte, brushed finishes, black, gold… you name it!
Connor had a pretty good idea of what he wanted which was a simple traditional thick gold band and that was my favorite as well. Once we narrowed in on the gold bands, he had to decide on a comfort fit vs a dome curved fit.
We ordered our rings that day in the store and chose to engrave them (James Allen offers free ring engraving) and they should ship within 2-3 weeks which I thought was so fast! (Keep reading to see the actual rings we got!)
