Cancun Mexico Recap: Finest Playa Mujeres

Recently, I took a trip to Mexico for my best friends wedding… if your friends are considering a destination wedding I highly recommend!

This was my first time experiencing an all-inclusive resort and we stayed at the Finest Playa Mujeres in Cancun. I have received a lot of questions on my opinion of the resort and if I recommend it for a family trip, honeymoon, etc. so here are my overall thoughts!

I think the photos speak for themselves in the fact that the property was gorgeous. The resort had a very modern and clean feel to it with a variety of different suite options. I stayed in a junior suite with a private pool but I think the swim up pool option was my favorite.

The resort is currently operating on a reduced capacity due to covid so I felt very safe and we were outside 90% of the trip. The finest was constantly updating their rules and regulations throughout the span of a year for our upcoming trip but here is what I experienced.

Like I said before, this was my first time doing an all-inclusive resort so I do not have a lot to compare it to. The grounds and beach were stunning. I actually liked going during covid only because we had most of the resort to ourselves which meant first choice of beach cabanas and the chairs at the main pool. The staff was very friendly and followed guidelines while we were there as well.

The only downfall in my opinion is that the food was not great. However, I had heard before going that all-inclusive food in general is not that great so I knew what to expect. Also due to covid, not all restaurants were open each night so we had limited choices for dinner. For lunch, we mainly ordered service at the pool and I did love their chicken quesadillas + guacamole.

For the wedding, the resort had many ceremony and reception options. Most were outside but some locations were covered and would be great to use as a rain back up if need be. All of the vendors my friend chose were our of Cancun and I cannot recommend her hair & makeup team + photographer enough. I will link them below:
